Pets (companion animals)

All animals have the right to enjoy a full life in their natural habitat, free from human exploitation. Vegans prefer not to promote the concept of a sentient being being owned, and hence the term ‘companion animals’.

Companion animals have been bred to rely on human support for their food and shelter. For these animals, we recognise their rights to love, companionship, exercise, good nutrition and as much freedom as protection will allow.

If you’re considering sharing your home with an animal, please rescue, adopt or foster, rather than shop. This could save the life of a homeless animal.
